Counseling Student Intern

Shamekia is a student intern, who is currently attending Grand Canyon University and  enrolled in GCU Master’s Program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With a solid educational foundation that includes Bachelor of Science Applied Business Management. Shamekia has a passion to reaching out in the community and helping others.  She is the Youth Director of her church and enjoys working with children and families, helping them develop coping skills, navigate daily challenges, and recover from various traumas. She also has experience  in Alcohol and Drug Counseling, which she looks forward to applying in her work. As a loving and caring woman she enjoys working with children and adults.  She has over 20 years of experience working in education and healthcare which includes teaching early childhood and elementary education. Her background has provided the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, teens, and adults. Shamekia is Supervised by her Field Supervisor Talmara Palatrone and Site Supervisor is Elisha Lambert, MS, LPC-S, RPT-S, ICST.
